Each level, explained

Every ambassador starts at the Campus level. Regional, State and National roles are earned through performance and are listed here so applicants and readers understand the full path, not just the entry point.

National Ambassador

Reports to: IJLCS Editorial Team

Coordinates every State Ambassador in their country and represents IJLCS at national academic events.

  • Appoints & mentors State Ambassadors
  • Approves country-level campaigns
  • Direct line to the editorial board

State Ambassador

Reports to: National Ambassador

Coordinates Regional Ambassadors across a state, and reports engagement back to their National Ambassador.

  • Onboards new Regional Ambassadors
  • Runs state-level events & webinars
  • Escalates regional issues upward

Regional Ambassador

Reports to: State Ambassador

Supports Campus Ambassadors across a cluster of nearby universities within a region.

  • Onboards new Campus Ambassadors
  • Runs regional info sessions
  • Escalates campus issues upward

Campus Ambassador

Reports to: Regional Ambassador

Represents IJLCS on a single campus — the entry point for every ambassador, open to any enrolled student.

  • Promotes calls for papers on campus
  • Encourages peer submissions
  • Eligible for promotion to Regional

Every ambassador enters at the Campus level. Regional, State and National roles are filled by promotion based on performance — you can't apply directly to them.

Common questions

What's the difference between the four ambassador levels? NEW
Campus Ambassadors represent a single university. Regional Ambassadors coordinate several Campus Ambassadors within a region. State Ambassadors coordinate Regional Ambassadors across a state. National Ambassadors coordinate every State Ambassador in a country and liaise directly with the IJLCS editorial team.
How do I become a Regional, State or National Ambassador? NEW
These roles aren't open for direct application. They're offered to ambassadors at the tier below who've shown strong performance over at least one term, based on a review by the current higher-tier ambassador and the IJLCS team.
Who can apply to become a Campus Ambassador?
Any currently enrolled student — undergraduate, postgraduate, or research scholar — with an interest in law, legal research, or academic publishing is welcome to apply, regardless of country or university.
What is the duration of the programme?
The standard term is one academic year at any tier, with the option to renew or be promoted to the next level based on performance.
What are the responsibilities of an ambassador?
Ambassadors help spread awareness of IJLCS's calls for papers and events within their sphere, encourage peers to submit research, and represent the journal within their academic community.
What is the selection process?
Applications are reviewed by the IJLCS team on a rolling basis. Shortlisted applicants may be contacted for a brief conversation before being confirmed as a Campus Ambassador.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. All active ambassadors at every tier receive an official certificate of recognition from IJLCS at the end of their term.
